TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS.

I’m a licensed esthetician &  makeup artist. As an esthetician I’m a student of skin for life, I love offering gentle natural facials and fun lash treatments. My main goal is to make a woman feel comfortable and beautiful in her own skin.
It’s easy to completely transform someone's face as an artist but creating a polished photo ready version of someone has been a more refined  focus as a makeup artist for the last 7 years I’ve even done light studies of  forensics to learn more about bone structure and what beyond the skin  (I’m nerdy like that, lol). I’ve been a makeup artist for about 15 years, and have dabbled in all areas of makeup including special effects, ultimately, the clean/ natural beauty movement is where my heart is right now.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN MAKEUP?

A friend in high school gave me a makeup book as a graduation gift. It was Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin. He is a makeup artist legend! That planted the seed. I studied that book for hours on end gathering a lot of inspiration and makeup knowledge from that book.
Even though I loved that book, I never could imagine myself as a makeup artist. I didn’t even wear makeup until my 20’s. I was dead set on becoming a fashion designer.  Which brought me to Southern California. When I couldn’t find a job in the apparel industry right away I was offered a job at a makeup counter in one of the largest malls in Orange County.
Eventually I worked as an assistant designer for a t- shirt and denim company and hated it. I was just about to get fired,  but thankfully was offered a job as a regional makeup artist for Estee Lauder just I'm time. I  jumped the apparel industry ship and chose to take the job. For 6 years I  traveled all over Southern California working large makeup events under celebrity makeup artists. That was the real beginning of my makeup career.

FAVORITE PART OF THE JOB?

Wedding day makeup is the best part. I always tell people the actual wedding day never feels like a job because its such a joy filled day! I get to have direct human contact for an entire morning with awesome people who trust me enough to touch their faces, how cool is that? Plus,  I love meeting my bridal clients family and friends. It always such an honor to be chosen as someones wedding day makeup artist.

WHAT ARE YOU ESSENTIAL BEAUTY PRODUCTS?

A good chemical exfoliator and a pretty highlighter!
I love a gentle fruit enzyme chemical exfoliator like Kypris Glow Philtre mask because it makes my job easier after the mask sits on the skin for 5-20 minutes the skin looks AMAZING. Very little foundation is needed. It also comes in handy for the bridesmaids who choose the option to only have eye makeup done.
I’ve been in LOVE with the coconut oil based RMS Living Luminizer for a few years now! It was a beauty award winner with the Knott this year. A little goes a long way!! It looks good on camera and on video. It’s perfect for every skin tone and texture. It can be used on the cheek bones on the eyes and the center of the lips for that dewy glow.

WHAT BEAUTY/MAKEUP HACK SHOULD EVERY BRIDE KNOW?

It’s not a makeup hack more of a life hack that can fall in the beauty category. The week before a brides wedding I say ramp up the amount of water consumed. It will not only help flush out any toxins from the body but it truly does help with the hydration level in the skin.

IF YOU COULD GIVE YOUR BRIDES OR CLIENTS ONE PIECE OF ADICE WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Nourish your skin with quality clean skin care and a clean diet. The more natural you can go with skin care as far as ingredients go, the softer and prettier your skin will look and feel. Also eating clean and drinking tons of water will help more than any beauty trick that you can find in a YouTube video.

WHAT WEDDING TREND ARE YOU LOVING THIS SEASON?

I’m digging the subtle contour look that’s on the bridal runways this year. A little bit of blush, a soft shimmery bronzer combined with a soft highlight is the best and most classic looking trend out there right now.
