We love her attention to detail, her ability to find the most perfect light and her easy going personality that makes her so easy to work with! TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS.
I am a wedding photographer, using both film and digital mediums to photograph couples in love! I specialize in weddings because I am passionate about marriage. Seeing couples make that lifelong commitment to their best friend is something that brings me so much joy. Also, just being present to photograph those memories is something that I will always see as a privilege.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AS A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
I fell in love with photography as a child, but I really started to invest in learning more about it after I had my daughter in 2010. I wanted to be able to take amazing photos of her and not have to pay someone else for it! From there, my obsession began; I wanted to learn as much as I could about photography. I jumped on an opportunity to second shoot at a wedding for a talented photographer in my area and I instantly knew that wedding photography is what I wanted to be doing.
FAVORITE PART ABOUT YOUR JOB?
The people and the places! I have met so many incredibly individuals, both in the industry here in Denver as well as the couples I've worked with. I feel really lucky to cross paths with so many wonderful people and feel like I can share a teeny tiny part in their story.
Also, the places that I've been able to travel too is definitely an added bonus!
FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOOT IN COLORADO?
This is a hard one because Colorado has endless amounts of beautiful locations! Pretty much anywhere in the mountains, and I'm a happy girl!
IF YOU COULD GIVE BRIDES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Be present and focus on the big picture! I guess that's technically two pieces of advice! So often, I see brides worrying about the smallest details on the wedding day and they can miss the big picture- which is, at the end of the day you get to marry your groom! And that's what it's really all about, isn't it?! So if the bride can stay present and enjoy the day, the photos will reflect that. Her joy will be so evident in the images!
WHAT WEDDING TREND ARE YOU LOVING THIS SEASON?
Personally, I'm loving that my brides have opted for smaller wedding parties! You hear the saying "the more the merrier", but I think having a close group of friends with you makes for a more intimate and meaningful celebration.
