Do I need an appointment to try on a wedding dress?

How long are the bridal appointments?

Bridal appointments differ in length depending on whether or not it’s  your first visit or a follow up. If it is your first time in, the appointment is 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you are coming back to try on your favorites again, we set aside 1 hour for your second bridal appointment.

When should you start shopping for a wedding dress?

We recommend you  start shopping for wedding dresses around 7-12 months in advance for the following reasons. Wedding dresses can take up to 4-7 months to receive from the designer. When you factor in shipping and alterations, it could be a 7-12 month total process. We suggest deciding on a dress 7–12 months prior to your wedding date, so you have time built in for fittings and accessorizing.

What if I have less then 7 months till my wedding and still need a dress?

If you still need a wedding dress in less than 7 months, we can help! We have a few different options for our quick turnaround brides! For an additional fee, we are able to accommodate rush orders, based on the designer. We also have wedding gowns that we can sell off the rack, but the availability of those gowns is limited and always changing. You can book a sample sale appointment to see these gowns. We also have a select few  online that can be purchased here.

What sizes are your sample gowns?

Our sample gowns range between a bridal size 2-24 with a majority of our gowns between bridal size 8-14. Remember that bridal sizing is different than street sizing and will differ depending on the designer. But don’t worry! If dresses are too big  or too small we have magical clips and ways to help you see how the dress will look in your size! If you are concerned or worried, please feel free to give us a call!

Will I need alterations on my dress?

YES, you will most likely need alterations on your dress. The cost of these alterations will depend on what you need done to the dress.

Do you do alterations at your studio?

Yes! We offer alterations at our studio. We have in-house seamstresses on site who are trained to making your wedding dress fit just right. Since we are a smaller boutique, we can only take a certain amount of alterations per month. If we are booked for your wedding month, don't worry we have wonderful seamstresses that we recommend! Either way, we will take care of you!

*Unfortunately, we can not do alterations on wedding and evening gowns that are purchased elsewhere.

Are alterations included in the price of my wedding dress?

Alterations are not included in the price of your wedding dress. Always plan to pay additional for alterations. The average cost of alterations is $500-$900. However, that cost can vary depending on style and fit changes. It is always good to factor this in when you are coming up with your wedding dress budget.

Is it weird to purchase a dress at my first appointment?

It is not weird to purchase your dress at your first appointment! In fact, it happens all the time!

Saying “Yes!” to your dream dress is an important decision. We want to ensure that you are 100% happy with your wedding dress before buying. Not only is your gown made-to-order but we are in partnership with our designers. Therefore, there are no refunds or exchanges in studio.

What if my measurements change after I buy my wedding dress?

If your measurements change after you buy your wedding dress, don’t worry! If you believe your measurements have changed, whether increased or decreased, and you are concerned - please feel free to reach out to your stylist.

Can you go wedding dress shopping without being engaged?

We recommend that you wait until you are engaged before shopping for your wedding dress. Often times your bridal vision and needs can change as you decide on a location and time of year for the wedding.

Should you wear Spanx to try on wedding dresses?

You can wear Spanx to try on wedding dresses if that makes you feel more comfortable, but it is not required. We proved bras and Spanx to use if you forget yours or wear colored underwear.

How many wedding dresses should you try on?

Unfortunately, there is no right answer to this one. Some brides try on several wedding dresses while others only try on a few before finding “the one”. However, we do recommend trying on no more than 30 wedding gowns or so. Anymore than that can become very overwhelming!

What do you wear under your wedding dress?

We always recommend nude, seamless underwear or Spanx. Whatever is comfortable for you. You can also wear a strapless bra, but cups are often sewn into the dresses.

Who goes wedding dress shopping with the bride?

Who joins your dress shopping adventures varies from bride to bride. We recommend bringing people that will help you make a decision, not make the decision more difficult. For some brides, that means shopping by themselves and for others it might mean bringing all their bridesmaids or just their closest family members. From our experience, less opinions are typically less overwhelming.

What is a good wedding dress budget?

Every bride's wedding dress budget is going to look different because every bride has different priorities. We recommend deciding on an amount that feels good to you. Our wedding gown collection begins around $1500 and goes up to $7000 with a lot of options in-between. You will also want to consider alterations when discussing a dress budget which could be anywhere from $500-$900 dependent on the dress. If you’re not sure, talk to your stylist! They will be more than happy to discuss pricing further and assist you with landing on a final budget that feels comfortable. We are always transparent about price and give a bride the option to try on a gown at a certain price point or not!
