We are so excited to announce the winner of our Grace Gives 2015 Campaign: Michaela Plank! Michaela was nominated by her mom, sister, and sister-in-law, and her story is truly inspiring!
Michaela is a twenty six year old, Colorado Native. Six years ago, Michaela was in an awful snowboarding accident which resulted in paralysis from her shoulders down. By the grace of God, she recovered and actually walked out of Denver's Craig Hospital. Through all of her ups and downs she has never lost sight of others. Michaela got involved with the "Plant Lovers Club": the first social club for students with disabilities at Cherry Creek High School. She is also involved with "The Cure" charity fashion show, Saddle Up! Foundation, the Western Fantasy Charity, Colorado Children's Campaign, and Saint Josephs Hospital.
Somehow in the midst of helping others she met Brady McQuinn, an equally as giving man. For their first date, they attended his families annual "Special Prom" event: an opportunity for the learning impaired and mentally disabled persons of any age to take part in a special night. The two have gone on to paint houses for "Extreme Community Makeover", fundraised for "Love Hope Strength", and volunteered at "Denver Metro Caring".
