Finding your wedding dress isn't the only important detail for your wedding day. We love the amazing wedding vendors Denver has to offer and value the community we've built with them. Each month we like to introduce you to a vendor we love because, well - we think you'll love them too!
MEET BECKY.
She's real. She's honest. She's an incredibly talented photographer.
We first met Becky when she moved back to Denver from Southern California a couple years ago. She's one of those people you instantly like and once we saw her photographs we knew we had to work with her! She's become a good friend to everyone at our shop; always excited to collaborate and produces the most incredible images of our brides. We hope you enjoy seeing some of her work and getting to know her a little bit better!
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS.
My name is Becky, I am newly married and coming off the joy of planning my own wedding. I live in Colorado with my husband Aaron and our Dog Stella. We just bought our first home and I am finding new creativity in designing and remodeling our little three bedroom ranch.
I have been in the industry as a wedding photographer for over 11 years, I feel pretty blessed that I get to capture love, life and the big love moments that change lives. Capturing weddings is such a joy.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AS A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
I attended photography school with every intention of being a food and advertising photographer, so if I am being completely honest I started my wedding photography business kinda by accident. I started photographing friends weddings in Southern California and the ball started rolling, I realized I really loved being apart of capturing weddings and the art that goes into it, so the ball never really slowed down. Now 11 years later I shoot about 20-30 weddings a year all over the world.
FAVORITE PART ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I love creating art out of the moments in a wedding day, I love telling the story. I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of couples and I am honored to still call so many of them friends.
FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOOT IN COLORADO?
Colorado is so beautiful. I love photographing weddings anywhere in the mountains but if I had to pick one I would say The Flying Diamond Ranch in Steam Boat Springs.
IF YOU COULD GIVE BRIDES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Relax and enjoy! There are many things to stress over but not one of them is worth missing out on the joy of engagement and your wedding day. Things will go wrong, they always do, but if you are a bride that lets it slide off your back you will be a bride that is a joy to be around and one that photographs beautifully.
WHAT WEDDING TREND ARE YOU LOVING THIS SEASON?
I LOOOOOVE floral everything. Load on the greens and blooms! It makes for such a romantic and classic feel in your wedding photos.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN BEING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAMERA AND PLANNING YOUR WEDDING THIS PAST YAER?
I was a pretty “go with the flow” bride, I had ideas but nothing was set in stone, my planner Tandem Events might say that made it hard for her…:) but it made the planning process so fun for me, I was open to ideas from my team of vendors, I was never dogmatic about things and in the end this made the amazing creativity of the vendors I hired come to life. I love how my day turned out.
Sure things went wrong in the planning process but I wasn't worried. I was more focused on marrying the man of my dreams and enjoying the day then I was about the the details.
I had fun, I enjoyed the little moments, I spent time with my family, I made sure to thank my parents, I loved on my aging grandparents, I danced the night away with my friends… I didn’t stress, and the PHOTOS and memories I have show that attitude!
