You're getting married! Congratulations! This is SO exciting! Whether you've been dreaming about this day since you were five or you never thought the day would come, this moment is worth celebrating! Pop the bubbly, call all of your family and friends and start dreaming up your day. If you're to the point where it is all sinking in and you're starting to wonder "where do we start?" this one is for you! Here are the first six things to do once you get engaged!

Hold a Planning Meeting

You have the ring and now it’s time to get planning! But where do you start? We suggest holding a planning meeting with your fiancé. Plan a date night, grab a cup of coffee or go to happy hour and take some time to talk about your expectations, vision and the budget. Talking about everything up front will help alleviate miscommunications and frustrations down the road.

Start Dress Shopping

It’s never too soon to start dress shopping!  Depending on the designer wedding dresses can take up to 4-7 months to receive. When you factor alterations, the entire process can take up to a year. We suggest deciding on a dress 7–12 months prior to your wedding date, so you have time built in for fittings and accessorizing. Planning a shorter engagement? Don't stress, we'll do our very best to help you find a dress that fits into your time constraints. To get started give us a call at 720. 383. 8091 or book an appointment online!

Pick a Venue. Pick a Date.

Now that you’ve set a budget and dreamed up what you want your wedding to look and feel like it’s time to pick a venue and a date! Classy mountain wedding? Modern downtown wedding? Tropical destination wedding? Summer? Winter? We highly suggest touring a few venues. Seeing them in person will help you decipher if you can see yourself getting married there. Once you’ve found the venue you love, pick a date and spread the word!

Insure Your Ring

We know, we know, this is one of the less glamourous parts of being engaged but it’s so important! The peace of mind you’ll have will be so worth it. Some jewelers offer insurance policies directly through them or you can look into policies your renters or home owner’s insurance offer.

Work on the guest list

If you have a budget and a venue it’s likely you have an idea of how many people you can invite. Between friends and family and your mom’s opinions this list can grow quickly!

Ask your Tribe

Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed at this point. Here’s where your tribe comes in! Decide who will be in your bridal party and find a fun way to ask them to be your bridesmaids. Once you’ve locked them in don’t be afraid to ask for help. Trust us, they are more than happy to help make your day perfect.
