When selecting bridesmaid dresses, it totally depends on the style and feel you’re trying to go for for the wedding! Your wedding dress also plays a major role in the ultimate decision. Here’s a few helpful tips on how to coordinate bridesmaid dress with your wedding gown in mind.

Choosing Fabrics

Whether you’re having mismatched bridesmaid dresses or having them wear all the same, you want to make sure that the fabric of your wedding gown and theirs is not the same. You don’t want the bridesmaid dresses to upstage your own gown by being too fancy. You also don’t want to blend in by being too casual. Try to go for a more simple style for your maids, since this day is all about you.

Embellishments

Does your dress have a funky lace, intricate beading or fun feathers? Coordinate with your bridesmaid to have similar features, but nothing too overpowering. Stick with a similar neckline as well.

Sleek and Simple

Is your gown chic and classically simple? Go for the same with your bridesmaid gowns. You also want to make sure you’re choosing a color other than white so you don’t look like another bridesmaid walking down the aisle.
